Kitchens and bathrooms for Pudsey homes
A lot of Pudsey's older stone terraces have narrow galley kitchens and a bathroom that was added at the back of the house years ago, often with a hot water cylinder taking up a cupboard. We regularly knock through to a dining room to make a family kitchen, or swap an old cylinder for a combi boiler to free up space for a bigger shower. In the 1930s and post-war semis, the usual job is a full kitchen refit with new wiring and a bathroom upgraded from a bath to a walk-in shower.

Pudsey kitchen and bathroom questions
Can you knock through to make a kitchen-diner in a Pudsey terrace?
Often, yes. If the wall is load-bearing it will need a steel beam and building control sign-off. We'll check on the design visit and include it in the price, so you know the full cost before we start.
My bathroom is tiny. Can it be made to feel bigger?
Usually. Swapping a bath for a walk-in shower, using a wall-hung basin and toilet, and moving the hot water cylinder out of the way can make a small Pudsey bathroom feel much bigger.
Who do I pay for the kitchen or bathroom itself?
You order and pay Howdens or Clifton Trade Bathrooms directly, through our trade account, so you get our trade discount. You pay us separately for the fitting.
